Long time coming...

After realising that we haven't updated the blog in over a year and that some family and friends who aren't on Facebook haven't seen us, I have decided to add a quicky blog entry.

We are doing well, lots has changed since last February with the last blog post.

At the moment: Emily has started at primary school and loving it;  Cam is in the midst of toilet training after not having been interested for so long and he's doing great; Bryce is on the verge of beginning his own business which is exciting and I am working full time again and really enjoying it, although it is quite tiring.

We are really enjoying Cyclocross season and having lots of fun. The whole family seems to get something out of it, from either cheering on the sideline or racing.

Emily, the bike rider

Emily has been tentative to begin riding her "pedal bike" and move away from her fun and easy wooden run bike. Bryce has been very  eager to get her riding independently but not wanting to turn her off riding all together, he has tried giving her some space. Well, yesterday, with some ice cream as incentive, Emily called herself a "champion."

Katie's farewell beauty pageant speech

Well done Miss Contraception!

This is a video of Katie, my friend and colleague, delivering her "farewell" speech at work, following the theme of beauty pageant queens.

Racing season has begun...

Bryce has begun his long trek to becoming a fully fit bike racer again. He has set the goal to complete the Kiwi Brevet race (about 1100km of mountain biking) in February so he has a bit of training to do.
Here are some pics of all of us watching his cyclocross race last weekend. Emily is becoming a great little supporter; cheering loud and yelling "Daddy, you're my hero!" when Bryce rides past. She also has learned that it is fun to hand Bryce his water or food when he is doing a race that has loops in it. So she is fast to pass the water bottle to him, and then rushes to go pick it up from wherever he throws it onto the ground. She thought it was pretty funny that Daddy just drinks a little bit and then throws the bottle. I can't wait to see her imitate him doing this someday.

Stinky girl...

Me: Emily, why are you farting so much tonight?
Emily: Because I like to do that. And because it's so much fun.
